The Keep Tobacco Sacred Collaboration was created to improve the ability of Elders and Knowledge Keepers to develop programs that will support First Nations youth in learning about the cultural meaning and traditional use of sacred tobacco, thus preventing, lowering, or stopping the use of commercial tobacco for Indigenous youth. The needed supports and tools will be collaboratively developed with community and available to facilitate cultural restoration and understanding.
Public health partners, First Nations Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and engaged corporate sponsors are working hard to support equitable, sustainable, community led and community designed resources and tools to foster strength based cultural interventions.
